Kolkata Knight Riders won a low scoring game against Rajasthan Royals on April 13. Rajasthan won the toss and chose to bat first. But their decision went against them as they were reduced to 131 runs. Though it was low scoring game, Rajasthan did well to get the game to the last over but KKR won the battle in the end.
This was a return leg match and Rajasthan Royals won the previous encounter by 22 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Rajasthan batting didn't have many big scores today as just one batsman managed to cross the thirty run mark. Throughout the innings they seemed to score in a low pace. Rahul Dravid scored 28 runs, wicket-keeper Shreevats Goswami scored 24 runs and Owais Shah scored 31 runs.
Though Rajasthan Royals had wickets in hand, they were not allowed to accelerate by the Kolkata bowlers to get a good total. Rajasthan Royals managed to score only 131/5 in 20 overs. Shakib Al Hasan was the pick of the bowlers for his bowling figures 3-17 in four overs.
With a low score on the board, Kolkata Knight Riders started off the batting slowly without much effort. Jacques Kallis scored 31 runs off 38 balls to start off the innings. The second wicket partnership between Kallis and Manvinder Bisla had a bit quick flow of runs as both put together 48 runs off 41 balls.
Manvinder Bisla and Manoj Tiwary scored 29 and 24 respectively. Rajasthan Royals bowler are also to be praised as they kept the hopes of winning alive till the 19th over. They bowled very tight that they didn't allow the quick flow of runs but the 19th over took the game away from Rajasthan.
Amit Singh bowled the penultimate over, Shakib Al Hasan hit a six and Yusuf Pathan hit a four and took the game away in favour of them. They needed only one run off the last over and Ryan ten Doeschate finished the match by hitting a six.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by five wickets. Shakib Al Hasan was the man of the match.
