Rohit Sharma made scapegoat?

As everybody knows, the Indian team is adopting a rotation policy in te current tri-series. The rotation policy is adopted for the top order, where the top seniors Sehwag, Sachin and Gambhir are kept in and out of the team. The reason give for this by Sehwag before the 2nd ODI was that to give chances to youngsters.

But the recent comments from captain MS Dhoni says that the reason for rotation is to give Rohit Sharma as many chances as possible. He also hinted on giving him chance for the next match at Adelaide also.

He said,"We would look to rotate and want Rohit to play as many games as possible. It gives him oppurtunity to get set. We can afford to give him chances in the first leg of the tournament. We all talk about the talent he has got. He goes back to domestic cricket and he scores a lot. So we all know he has got the talent to prove himself at the top level. We need to back him, we believe in the kind of talent he has. Hopefully in the next few games he will get going, and that will be a big boost because he is one who can really field well."

On the other hand, Suresh Raina hasn't also performed well in the past two matches. But his place in the team was never talked about. Comparing both(Rohit and Raina), Rohit Sharma is the better choice. Rohit has played well than Raina after World Cup.

If one sees the stats(after WC), then Rohit Sharma will be the natural choice. After World Cup, Rohit Sharma has played 13 games and scored six half centuries, where as Suresh Raina has played 22 games and has got only two half centuries.

Two days back, Sunil Gavaskar said that the rotation policy is unnecessary and the best eleven should be fielded. He said that the seniors should be in the team. The Indian captain has said that there will be rotation in the nex games as well. But if the Indian team goes by Gavaskar's statement in the next match, then who will be the one to sit off the field, Rohit or Raina? Only time will tell.
